The questions our metallurgists answer most often, with specific numbers and actionable guidance.
Inconel 718 is used for high-temperature fasteners in jet engine discs, gas turbine hot sections, nuclear reactor internals, subsea wellhead connectors, and cryogenic systems. It is the most widely specified superalloy fastener material thanks to its 1275 MPa tensile strength and 700°C service limit. It also sees use in rocket engine components, springs, and high-pressure autoclave closures.
Our materials engineers can answer application-specific questions about superalloy fastener selection, temperature limits, and corrosion performance. Reach out with your service conditions.
